Arriving on the area of the basecamp at around 17:30 we usually set up the tents, digging a bit of snow in order to anchor tents in case of strong winds.
Once done we organise beddings and lights. We then try to take advantage of the sunset. Then we prepare our light dinner sometimes we get some visit from a timid Fox. Once the dinner is over if we lucky with the clouds we get to see plenty of starts above. Finally we huddles in warm sleeping bags to stay overnight in tents.
Usually inside tents there is a friendly atmosphere all of its own without TV or other distraction and taken to speak and discuss until one fell’s asleep.
The next morning we wake up sometimes with the breathtaking sun rising straight on us, sometimes with skiers who are interested, and with a stunning view of the crystal clear Gran Sasso mountain view.
Once done with breakfast, warm drinks, we fold up the camp, and this concludes the experience.
